To create a gender pay gap report for all Warner Media business units. The design most encompass the Warner Media essence yet give each business the ability to stand alone as a single slide. The outcomes must be a PowerPoint presentation, PDF, editable templates and capable of being used for digital advertising assets.
Solution
For this project, I knew I had to push it further than a simple PowerPoint presentation that met the government requirements. I wanted to create an eye-catching deck that would stand out from the crowd, who said a corporate report had to be boring. Plus, I knew this would advertise the business to employees.
I researched competitors in the media industry to see what reports they produced. Often, they would meet the basic requirements, while others, such as ITV, would create beautiful reports. I used this research along with my design principles to construct a template in Abobe Illustrator. Transitioning it over to PowerPoint, where I would further develop it into a template for future use.
This resulted in a 12-page document utilising the Warner Media brand identity to its fullest by incorporating their clapper-board throughout and their signature colour palette. Each business unit slide was consistent with the rest of the deck, yet contained the core content that would allow it to stand alone. The design was so successful that the company used it in the same layout, with updated information in the following year.
